2012 Ford Focus Electric overall :
Ford began teasing us with the thought of a Ford Focus with an electric drivetrain back in 2009 when the company strategically placed a Focus Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) on the now-defunct Jay Leno Show (as shown above).
That Focus, based on the current European model, offered a range of almost 80 miles as well as 141 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque.
What we do know about the soon-to-be-released production Focus Electric is that it will offer a range of up to 100 miles per charge. The lithium-ion battery pack will be supplied by Compact Power, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of LG Chem.
2012 Ford Focus Electric prices :
Price: Not yet released
2012 Ford Focus Electric Performance :
Other than the Nissan Leaf, the 2012 Ford Focus Electric is the only mass-market 100-percent all-electric vehicle available. No one has test driven the Focus Electric yet, but it should have a 100-mile range, and like the Leaf, charging will require some owners to make a few compromises.
2012 Ford Focus Electric Exterior :
Reviewers don’t have much to say about the 2012 Ford Focus Electric’s exterior, but there’s no doubt that it has a conservative design. The Electric looks a lot like the gasoline powered 2012 Ford Focus, but it doesn’t have a tailpipe and gains electric badges.
2012 Ford Focus Electric Interior :
So far, we don’t know if the 2012 Ford Focus Electric has a roomy cargo area or comfortable seating, but we do know that it comes with a lot of tech features that make owning an electric car easier.
2012 Ford Focus Electric Safety :
The federal government and the insurance industry have not tested the 2012 Ford Focus Electric and they probably won’t for some time.
2012 Ford Focus Electric Reliability :
Ford hasn’t released warranty information on the 2012 Focus Electric, but the Ford Fusion Hybrid’s warranty should give you a good idea of what to expect for the Focus Electric.
